DON’T Throw out your mattresses and box springs!

I don't know how many times in conversation with clients I have heard that they were recommended to throw away their mattress and box springs because they have bed bugs.
Every time I hear it I cringe a bit. Blessed with four children, if anyone can appreciate a budget it's this guy and I cringe when hearing such costly and wasteful recommendations. Replacing beds is no inexpensive venture and it is no secret that bed bugs tend to harborage in those areas, but throwing them away is not enough and will very rarely stop the problem. Instead, it generally just gives the bed bugs a new place to harborage. Further, very frequently the infestation is actually moved throughout the home or apartment while trying to remove the mattress and box springs from the area further increasing the expense.
Bed bugs will lay their eggs in the ssmallest crack or crevice. I've seen them many times in the slot of a screw in a bed set. People who discard their bedding without proper treatment later find their problem has resurfaced in no time and in new areas.
